QIs Barnbougle Castle open now?

Our sleeping castle will open in May 2019 to host your special event or gathering. We are currently taking bookings.

QHow close to Edinburgh Airport are you?

We are a fifteen minute drive from Edinburgh International Airport and only seven miles from Edinburgh city centre.

QHow many can the castle cater for?

We have two large event spaces within the castle, catering for up to 200 guests.

Groups of up to 450 people can be accommodated with the option of marquees in the garden and even larger groups can use the adjacent Castle park, which is edged by several hundred yards of sandy beach.

QIs there accommodation at the Castle?

No, this is an exclusive-use event venue only. We can help you with local and Edinburgh based accommodation providers. Please enquire with your Events Manager.

QWho provides the catering?

Our exclusive catering partner, Honeycomb & Co Events, has been chosen for their high level of expertise and individuality and has been serving the Rosebery family for over 15 years. They will provide you and your guests with stylish dishes that are bursting with flavour.

QHow do I check availability and prices?

Please contact us at [email protected]. We will be delighted to check dates for your event and build a package specifically for you.

QWhere do we park?

Access to the Castle is via the Chapel Gate entrance of the private Dalmeny Estate. Car parking is in the designated area.

Guests can also be dropped off and collected from the Castle by coach. Please liaise with your Event Manager as gate access restricts larger coaches.

QIs Barnbougle Open to the public?

No, Barnbougle Castle is not open to the public. This allows us to offer the venue to you exclusively.

N.B. Guests may only access the castle when attending a private event.

QIs the Castle accessible?

The Castle is accessible from the main entrance via a ramp with a lift to all levels within. Wheelchair accessible WC facilities are available on the ground floor. The path of travel to access the Castle can be uneven due to gravel paths and mixed terrain and the private beach access includes narrow steps.
